El riesgo de ser verde. La implementación de políticas climáticas en el Banco Central de Chile

Como respuesta a la importancia del cambio climático, múltiples bancos centrales han incorporado consideraciones climáticas a su agenda de trabajo, volviéndose “bancos centrales verdes”. El Banco Central de Chile (BCCh) se ha sumado a este esfuerzo, incorporando el clima a su trabajo. Sin embargo, en contra de su carácter de “buen alumno”, el BCCh se encuentra rezagado en la implementación de recomendaciones de política monetaria y financiera verde. Este artículo describe el proceso de implementación de políticas verdes al interior del BCCh con tal de dar luces respecto a las dimensiones detrás de este rezago. La descripción asocia el rezago del BCCh con las ideas sobre banca central verde y la interpretación de su mandato. El artículo discute las implicancias teóricas de estas asociaciones para futuros estudios sobre los rezagos en banca central verde en otros bancos centrales.
